My Horses

Hannabal

On September 27th, 2005, we lost Hannabal, my equine partner of 19 years. During Hannabal's prestigious career he sustained three major suspensory tears in his right front leg. The last one was enough to end his time cantering down the center line. For the past 4 years Hannabal has enjoyed his retirement and still remained the king of the barn. Hannabal lived a great life, he was the clown of the barn, sometimes very challenging to ride and always a champion in the show ring. During his 9 years of competition he won 31 Championships, numerous reserves, 2 silver metals in the 1995 Pan-American Games and his last year at Grand Prix he was ranked 7th in the nation. Hannabal was truly loved by his family and friends and was admired by many and an inspiration to all. He proved that an American bred horse can make it to the top. We will fondly remember him for his heart to work and determination to please.
